Glenn Dromgoole is the former editor of the Abilene Reporter-News, the founder of the West Texas Book Festival, and the author of more than twenty books. In 2013, he was named Abilene's Outstanding Citizen of the Year.

Jay Moore is a native Abilenian and teaches history at Abilene High School. He is the author of Abilene History in Plain Sight. In 2013, he was selected as Outstanding Teacher of the Humanities for the State of Texas.
